Introduction: This page describes the Articles & Resources page, differentiates between them, then elaborates on the subsequent Articles page and Resources page
Article:

Below is the image of the landing page for Articles & Resources.

There are two types of 'free format' contributions from the members of the community that can be found in the OSCC. Articles and Resources (which are described below).

The main difference between the two is that Articles are created on the OSCC, and maintained here, while Resources are created externally and maintained outside the OSCC.
While articles are basically rich text based documents (like MS Word), resources may be presentations, white papers, or links to other web sites.
As mentioned, articles may be created (and possibly edited) by any member of the OSCC. Resources must be submitted to the site administrator and, if selected, will be added and perhaps featured as well.

The main page displays the featured articles and resources and will change over time. Mostly, new material from both categories will be featured here.

To see a list of all articles or resources select one of the buttons:

Articles:

The page, depicted below, is the articles page which you can reach by selecting the 'all articles' button. As with offerings and requests, these articles may be ordered (Green circle) by category, date, by number of comments or by member rating. Just select the tab to view articles in the desired sort order.

Selecting the article will open it for viewing.

Some articles are 'community editable' - that means the author wishes the members to review, modify and add to the article in a true open community fashion (such as this article). One may select the article and then the 'edit' button, or one may use the shortcut provided in the article list by the edit button (blue circle)
In order to create a new article from scratch (which is highly recommended, did I mention that before?) select the 'create new article' button (red circle)

You may select the 'edit' button on this article and see what the edit page looks like.
I do suggest to hit the 'cancel' button if you do not have anything to contribute at this point.
Below is an image of the edit article page.

Articles (like this page) are created online, using the tools provided by the OSCC. There is a WYSIWYG and HTML editor that allows any registered member to create and save a new article.
The articles can be categorized and then searched based on the category (green circle, above)
The author determines if she would like the article to be 'community editable' i.e. allow each member of the OSCC to edit the article and save the changes in a true Wiki fashion. (red circle, above)
Others may deem their articles to be complete and final and would not wish them to be modified.

There is built in version control, and the ability to compare and switch between versions.

Note: the HTML mode is very tricky and and has a mind of its own. If you don't conform to a well formatted document, there is no telling how the editor will interpret it and what the results may be.

Otherwise, the WYSIWYG editor is quite standard and user friendly with the ability to upload images and link to internal and external pages.

Resources

As mentioned above resources are created externally and maintained outside the OSCC.
Resources may be presentations, white papers, or links to other web sites.
Resources must be submitted to the site administrator and, if selected, will be added and perhaps featured as well.

When selecting 'all resources' the list of available resources is displayed:

As with other lists in the OSCC, resources may be sorted by category, date, number of comments and by ratings (see red circle, above).
Notice the Next & Previous buttons at the bottom of the list (blue circle) to access more resources.
