Service Offerings
Service Requests
This is the landing page for both the Service Offerings and Service Requests. As there is still much confusion as to what is what, and service catalogs are mentioned in the context of both, this page attempts to give a simple distinction and present featured services. you may select a featured offering or request, or look at the full list of the offerings/requests by selecting either button
Selecting 'all service offering' will land you in the service offerings page
Service Offering Template' whose fields are empty. Members are encouraged to download this document and define new service offerings to be shared with the community.
Members are also encouraged to view the various offering, comment on them and rate them for the benefit of the community.
Member contributions are most welcome. Select the orrange button to create and add your own service offerings and have other members comment and rate it.
In time we expect this list to be quite long; therefor there are four sorting categories:
Category: order offering based on the service categories and sub categories.
Most Recent: sort by chronological order
Most Comments: Sort by number of comments member have entered (showing interest)
Highest Rated: Sort by members' rating
Notice the category list on the left menu.
Selecting a service category will display all the offerings that are listed under that category.
Selecting an offering from the list opens that offering's page:
Clicking the document itself (green circle) will open it for download. You may then save it on your own computer, review and modify it and perhaps, contribute a new offering.
Selecting 'rate this page' (blue circle) opens a drop-down that allows you to rate this offering.
Finally, one may select the 'view in offering catalog' button (red circle) to open a live service catalog application (compliments of newScale Inc) and see what the service offering looks like in a real catalog. In time the catalog will include a large selection of 'live' offerings.
Service Requests
The service request window is the copy image of the Service Offering page as described above except that the documents - the templates, deal with requests, not offerings. The requests may be sorted by the four options as described for Offerings, but note that the categories for Requests are different than those of Offerings.
Selecting a request category from the left menu will display all the requests that are listed under that category.
There is a special document, 'Service Request Template' that is the empty master document for Service Requests. Members are encouraged to download it, use it to create new requests and upload it to this page for the benefit of the community.
Also, please note, when selecting the button 'View Request in Catalog' will direct you to a different part of the application (provided by newScale Inc.) that manages requests rather than Offerings.
