This unique series of Focus events examines five crucial aspects of executing successful IT transformation. Beyond technologies like virtualization, and operational models such as cloud computing, there is the question of how the business function - known as IT - is evolving.
This series taps the expertise and war-story experience of IT practitioners and technologists, and will explore the critical business, organizational, competitive and financial aspects of IT Transformation that today’s IT leaders need to know.
About this event:
IT used to be the department that said “no.” Historically, it would take days or weeks to obtain access to a new service, and limits were placed on the quantities of services for use. However, in an evolved model, IT thinks of itself as a business within the enterprise, and the object is to encourage and facilitate consumption.
How can ITaaS present a competitive advantage for your company? Are most IT departments ready to embrace this model? Where do aspects such as self-service catalogues, elastic capacity, and security fit in? We’ll talk about whether and why ITaaS matters in this second panel in a series around IT Transformation.
