Today we are announcing a new, super easy program for customers or ITSM consulting firms working on customer's service catalog development. It's a hosted, cloud-based edition of our catalog documentation and publishing tool, PortfolioCenter.
The first questions in any Service Catalog initiative are typically ‘How do I define my services?’ and ‘How can we effectively communicate and market what IT does?’ Then the issue becomes "how granular are my services? Are there templates or content I can start from?" And finally, "how do I distribute or get the organization to adopt the catalog?"
This new offering, consisting of software from newScale and services from Third Sky addresses the whole catalog development lifecycle: Training, Building and Publishing
First is training. The Service Catalog Jump Start program begins with a "Accelerated Service Catalog Modeling” Workshop, grounded in the industry good practice guidelines of the ITIL® framework and enhanced through [Partner Name]’s extensive, hands-on experience in helping our clients to develop their Service Catalogs.
Then comes building and documenting with a post-workshop Service Catalog mentoring consulting from our partner to facilitate your team’s completion of their draft Service Catalog.
And finally, publishing. Your own site is available as an online service with access to the populated catalog from the workshop, enabling your service catalog team to capture, organize, and publish service catalog content. This includes pre-populated content, ITIL v3 organizational structure, a portal, and the ability to export your content in XML once you are done.
And did I mention all the professional templates? That's the wicked awesome part. Check one out. If you do Unix application hosting, take this template, edit it with our easy to use tools and presto, service defined.
